sweet!

Got this email from my professor this morning. Jennifer is the sweetest angel in the world!!!!

A Few Days away from this View

在上傳model照片的同時發現了相機裡原來還有這張。按照記憶卡裡的順序看來應該是上個冬天從機場和媽媽開車回家時拍下來的。這是大度路，左手邊和右手邊是關渡平原，背景是觀音山，小時候剛搬到關渡，認真認識環境的時候爸爸媽媽都會在開車經過這裡的時候這樣解釋，大家還會順便研究一下觀音的額頭眼窩鼻子下巴脖子在哪裡。

離家一年，這個24年來對我來說再尋常不過的景象也能激發出我山地饅頭(sentimental, for those of you who don't understand)的衝動，好險很快又可以看到這光景。

大禹治水是幾年之間三過家門而不入？真不敢相信他怎麼辦到的，我就算再怎麼想完成我的project，或是對於model有多入迷，看到這種景象也會想要立刻衝回家啊。還是大禹其實住在像clinton hill, Brooklyn這樣的ghetto？

比賽結果

所以結果是，今年仍然是同一位教授的學生贏了。

雖然評審都說非常非常喜歡我的project，crit裡幾乎沒有任何負面的評語，不過就和往年一樣，因為這個比賽是透過位教授的關係才有，所以年年都是他組上的學生得獎。

不過最值得讓我開心的是，除了那位教授之外，其他四位教授都主動過來跟我說恭喜;-) I guess that says something ;-)

媽拍謝噢，沒有椅子當母親節禮物了哈哈哈。

The point of making your parents proud.

I'm sure there must have been a teacher in your academia life telling you " Don't work hard for your parents' sake. Work hard for your own sake."

AND I HAVE TO SAY THIS IS WRONG.

I work hard because I want to make my parents proud, which makes me proud of myself and happy too.


AND IT'S SUCH A WONDERFUL MOMENT TO SEE PEOPLE FEELING PROUD OF YOU.

So I was working my ass off yesterday in an empty studio when Tetzu (one of our studio professor) walked in and saw I was still working after studio final review. He then led me into Karin's office for a little chat with all professors regarding the Vitra presentation next Monday.

The most important thing is:
Karin SAID " NICE WORK THIS SEMESTER, YIFAN. VERY NICE." before I closed her door.


How proud are you of me! ;-)


Honestly, I've never worked so hard in my life before. I've been clever enough to get away with all the hard work. Things are different now. I'm going to be clever, brilliant as usual and HARD-WORKING.

Thanks, Mom, Dad, Sherry, Tony and so many of my friends. Having you and you and you and you in mind makes me move on to the next level and many more beyond.
